Description

The Altoona Area Public Library is seeking applicants for a full-time District Consultant position.

The District Consultant works closely with libraries in Blair, Bedford and Huntingdon Counties to build library capacity and ensure quality library services for all residents.

Candidates should excel at facilitation techniques, written and oral communications, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A successful candidate will possess strong knowledge in the PA Statute (Title 24) and Regulations (Title 22) which cover libraries, Human Resources/Policies and Procedures, grant writing, board development, E-rate, and SPARK.

A current driver’s license and the ability to obtain the Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal Record Check, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance is mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:
MLS from an ALA accredited institution*
5 years working in a public library
(*Candidates with a pending MLS may be considered)

Minimum starting salary is $40,000.00.
