Job Description:Examples of Duties:
- Manage and improve the infrastructure of ScholarWorks, UMass Boston's Open Access Institutional Repository, including journals, Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs), research datasets, and other scholarly materials. Provide guidance and support to journal administrators.
- Collaborate with graduate studies staff, the registrar's office, and academic departments to facilitate and troubleshoot student Electronic Theses and Dissertations submissions.
- Work with the Institutional Repository vendor to resolve technical issues, implement new features, and develop repository communities.
- Build relationships with individuals and academic departments to increase repository adoption and use; develop repository policies, submission workflows, educational materials, and documentation.
- Guide faculty and students on Open Access publishing and repositories; advise on copyright policies and Open Access services; connect faculty with persistent identifier resources for journals, articles, and researchers.
- Promote Open Educational Resources (OERs) and course affordability among faculty and students through outreach and engagement.
- Support faculty in adapting existing and creating new Open Educational Resources. Provide instruction on open publishing tools and resources covering copyright, accessibility, hosting platforms, and citation management.
- Coordinate the UMB OER incentive grant cycle in collaboration with the SCDLL, including reviewing applications, developing educational materials, delivering training sessions and workshops, and providing consultations to faculty applicants and grantees.
- Contribute to additional affordable learning initiatives, including coordinating and actively participating in the UMB OER Working Group.
- Work with the SCDALL in collaboration with Office of Research & Sponsored Programs to manage the Research Information Management System, develop educational materials, and conduct outreach.
- Create andshare educational and promotional materials through university communication platforms to enhance and improve campus engagement with Healey Library services.
- Engage with external organizations to promote UMass Boston's work in Affordable Learning, Open Scholarship, and Scholarly Communications.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in scholarly communications and open publishing.
- Actively participate in professional development through conferences, workshops, and other learning opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
MLS, strong technology skills, knowledge of library trends and services.
Supervision Received:
Report directly to the Scholarly Communications, Data, & Affordable Learning Librarian.
Supervision Exercised:
Coordinates with various staff in the library and may occasionally supervise a student assistant or library intern if opportunity arises.

UMass Boston expects to pay within an approximate range between $62,000 and $76,000 for this position.
The specific pay for this position will be determined by the University based on the consideration of all relevant factors when and if it decides to extend an offer of employment.
