Salado Public Library is looking for an enthusiastic Teen Librarian to lead our young adult services and help shape the next generation of library patrons. This position is responsible for planning, promoting, and delivering engaging programs for middle and high school-aged patrons, and for developing and maintaining a young adult collection that reflects the interests and needs of our teen community. This is a highly visible, creative role that combines direct teen engagement with collection development expertise. The person filling this position must be comfortable using social media platforms.
Requirements
Master of Library Science (MLS) degree from an ALA-accredited program, or currently enrolled in an MLS program with at least 1 year of coursework completed
A genuine interest in and understanding of teen culture, interests, and developmental needs Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently, manage projects, and meet deadlines Comfort with public speaking and leading group activities Basic proficiency with computers and library systems Comfortable using social media platforms, updating website content, and creating graphics in Canva
