The Marquette University Eckstein Law Library is looking for a highly talented individual to join our team as a Reference & Instructional Services Librarian and Adjunct Professor of Law.

The Reference & Instructional Services Librarian teaches an advanced legal research course, collaborates with colleagues to provide legal research instruction in other areas of the curriculum, and provides legal research instruction and reference assistance to law students, law faculty, the Marquette community, the legal community, and members of the public. Law librarians also collaborate on reference policies, collection development, assessment, and other programs, service, and resources. Adjunct Professor of Law rank is commensurate with experience.

Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
M.L.I.S. (or equivalent) from an ALA-accredited institution or current enrollment in such a program with degree completed within one year of the date of hire.
Knowledge of legal research methodology and legal bibliography in multiple formats.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Flexibility and the ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
Strong service orientation and ability to work with a diverse patron population.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience teaching legal research or information literacy, including the ethical and effective use of generative artificial intelligence tools.
Experience providing research and reference services.
Experience working in a law library or in a legal practice setting.
