Company Overview

Beaumont Library District is a California special district, independent of city and county government, with a five-member elected Board of Trustees which sets policy, oversees finances, and advocates for the library.  It serves the more than 65,000 residents of Beaumont and Cherry Valley over a 60-square-mile territory in the San Gorgonio Pass region of Riverside County, 70 miles east of urban Los Angeles and 30 miles west of the Palm Springs desert communities. 

Company History

Beaumont Library District was established by a public vote in 1911. Its original structure was built in 1914 with funding from Andrew Carnegie. It is the last surviving Carnegie building in Riverside County still being used as a library. It is also the oldest library continuously operating from the same building in Riverside County. The library was expanded in 1965 and a small community room was added by 1981. A major expansion and renovation project is expected to begin in 2025.

Benefits

Beaumont Library District is a member of the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), through which health insurance plans are provided to full-time staff members, who also receive life insurance coverage through the Special District Risk Management Authority (SDRMA) and employer-paid HRA accounts managed by Total Administrative Services Corporation (TASC). In addition, sick leave, vacation, personal days, and holidays are also provided.
