Description
To ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information; to empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information; to instill a love of learning and reading in all students and ensure equitable access to information; to support classroom instruction.
Requirements
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors degree from accredited university
- Masters degree in related field required
- School Librarian Certificate required
- Masters on Library and Information Science preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Ability to use new technologies and current library methodologies
Experience:
- 2 years teaching experience required
- 1 year experience as librarian or library assistant preferred
