Description
This is a temporary part-time position with options to renew each year. Position starts Sept. 1, 2026.
GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Provide research support for students, faculty, and staff through phone, chat/email, and in-person assistance, using a variety of library databases, online research tools, and digital communication platforms to deliver services. Work collaboratively with academic support and tutoring staff to enhance student learning, and support Library Services staff to complete special projects. This position receives general direction from the Research & Instruction Librarian, exercises no supervision, and works independently during assigned shifts. This position requires the ability to work with minimal supervision, and will work during evening hours and on weekends; hours are subject to change based on the needs of the department. Employee may not exceed 19.5 hours per week.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
BENEFITS: Part-Time Retirement. Participation in Medicare Part A, but not Social Security (FICA).
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Library Science or Library and Information Science
Experience: Experience with library databases, cloud-based file sharing (e.g., Google Drive, OneDrive), and digital communication tools.
